Who are you? What binds you? Are you ready to set yourself free?
The exploration of the chakras leads to an incredibly powerful experience that has the chance to bring you into awareness of your personal, familial and socially inherited patterns and belief systems. Traveling internally inevitably helps clarify aspects of your life in need of love and transformation, and gives you the opportunity for positive change. This, in turn, attunes you to your highest source of love and infinite potential. Through these workshops, you’ll tap into the world of your dreams, while clearing space to manifest them into your reality.
Each workshop includes journaling, discussion, meditation, and a restorative practice as we delve into each of the 7 major chakras, or energy wheels.
Through an array of energizing and restorative yoga asana (postures) intended to open each center, and information about their key functions, you have the opportunity to meaningfully observe your internal world. You’ll also discover how programmed behaviors around issues of family dynamics, relationship to work and finances, sexuality, self-esteem, social interactions, creativity, communication, and belief systems affect your daily life experiences. All of this information is stored in your physical, mental, emotional bodies, and spiritual bodies, all you need to do is slow down and listen. Based on your personal discoveries, you’ll determine what you wish to move forward with and what you are ready to let go of in order to create space for more love, health, and balance from within.
Join us and shift your perspective inspired by the ancient philosophical study of the 7 chakra system combined with modern psychology.
As you go through this very personal experience, develop creative skills to process your thoughts and emotions. Honor your growth and transformation by producing beautiful works of art that physically and symbolically represent what you were once bearing the weight of internally. Learn photography and mixed media skills along with an introduction to key artists throughout history.
An exhibition for friends and family will be held at the end of the series.
Please see below for dates.
I commit to 9 weeks of sending my gaze inward, facing my inner world, and developing my creativity.
The 12 dates scheduled from March 28- May 23, 2018 suit my schedule.
Intro to Seven Major Chakras
What Are Chakras?
Briefly explore all seven major energetic centers from root to crown and gain overview of the weeks ahead.
Wednesday, March 28th from 6:30-9:00 PM.
The Muladhara chakra relates to early life relationships, physical development, grounding, security, and finances. It also deals with issues of fear and trust.
Wednesday, April 4th from 6:30-9:00 PM.
The Svadhisthana chakra is our emotional center. It is said to govern issues of intimacy, sexuality, and how we process, or deny our emotional realities. Discover where love, transformation, and balance are needed in your emotional life as we look into feelings of desire and guilt.
Wednesday, April 11th from 6:30-9:00 PM.
The Manipura chakra connects to our sense of will and self worth. It is linked to our self-esteem and ego, and affects how we perceive power in our selves and from others. This center governs our actions and interactions and deals with issues of anger and shame.
Wednesday, April 18th from 6:30-9:00 PM.
The Anahata chakra is considered our healing center, as it is the bridge between our lower and upper chakras. It relates to our perception and expression of love toward our selves and others. An imbalance in any of our other chakras affects the healthy flow of this chakra. This is also the space from which we create harmony and balance in our internal and external worlds. Here we face issues of grief and love.
Wednesday, April 25th from 6:30-9:00 PM.
The Vissudha chakra is concerned with issues of communication and self-expression. It relates to speaking based on our deep, inner definition of truth, and inevitably connects to our ability to relate to others. As we bring attention to these aspects of your experience, discover where you need to apply more love in order to have more effective communication.
Wednesday, May 2nd from 6:30-9:00 PM.
The Ajna chakra links us to our intuition and ability to visualize and create ideas in our minds. It opens the gates to the spiritual dimensions of our existence and has the power to connect us to our higher purpose. Here we explore archetypes and how they govern our lives.
Wednesday, May 9th from 6:30-9:00 PM.
The Sahasrara chakra relates to our connection to the divine and our relationship to all living things. A balance in this and all other chakras steps us into our highest selves and aligns us with our unique purpose. The focus shifts from our ego self to being of service to others in our community and beyond. With a balance of all chakras we live with the deeply engrained wisdom that we are all connected of equal importance in creating harmony and love.
Wednesday, May 16th from 6:30-9:00 PM.
Express Your Feelings
As you face internal situations, develop artistic skills to create beauty from your experiences. We’ll meet 3 times for creative workshops aimed at providing an outlet for your emotions. At the end of the series, we’ll all have works of art to show our process and invite friends and family to an exhibition at Heart in Brain.
